All our GP appointments are for ten minutes and are for one person and preferably for one problem.
Due to Covid-19 we are still asking our patients to book this as a telephone consultation if possible to minimise how many people we have in the practice at one time.
If you feel you need to be examined or have difficulty speaking on the phone then our reception team will be happy to book you a face to face appointment. Please give the receptionist a brief reason for your appointment as this ensures you are booked with the most appropriate person.
If you are offered a telephone triage appointment then the Doctor will call you, discuss your symptoms and take appropriate action. If you are offered a video call triage appointment then an SMS text message will be sent with all the necessary details. This may be inviting you in for a face to face consultation, advising you to contact 111 or prescribing you medication to collect from your nominated pharmacy.
If you do not have a nominated pharmacy, please contact the surgery.
You may book an appointment by phone, by calling in or on the internet if you have registered to do this. Appointments with the doctor are generally available up to four weeks ahead.
Patients with an urgent medical problem will be given an appointment with the duty doctor for that same day. These appointments should only be used for problems that will not wait and only for that problem.
Appointments may be booked with the practice nurses for chronic disease checks, routine monitoring of blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, asthma and those patients that have had a stroke, NHS Health checks, immunisations, routine smear tests, wound dressing and stitch removal, dietary advice and new patient checks. Our phlebotomist will see patients who require a blood test.
We also offer a new service with our community first contact physiotherapist. Mohammad is here every Monday afternoon to assess patients with soft tissue, muscle and joint pains. You can book these telephone triage appointments at reception.
